Yakira's interest in nutrition began in high school when she took a nutrition elective in 12th grade. From there, she realized she had always appreciated balance and moderation in diet and lifestyle. She wants to ensure she enjoys life while staying healthy and has a passion for sharing her approach with others. After high school, Yakira studied abroad for a year and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in Nutrition from New York University. She completed a dietetic internship through NYU, with rotations at Memorial Sloan Kettering, Alaris Health, and Savor Health. She is almost finished with her master's degree in clinical nutrition from NYU and plans to continue learning about all aspects of nutrition, specifically prenatal nutrition, weight management, and intuitive eating.
