She seemed kind of disconnected. She gave no indication that she felt an ounce of empathy, or anything but brisk efficiency to get through the appointment. It was the same demeanor of someone assisting with making some kind of retail purchase. Get the facts, ask the questions, and let's get off the phone asap. Maybe the coldest psychiatric professional I've ever met with. It was weird, to be honest. I don't think she's inept, or a "bad person" or anything! Just maybe not *super* conducive to this kind of patient interaction.

Yamley was (well, is) AMAZING I can tell already and I’ve only had 2 appointments with her so far!! Also she must be fantastic bc I HATE telehealth (video) appointments with a passion usually but actually will stick with it this ONE exception bc she is so great compared to the last 2 psychiatrists I had especially like holy COW is she better than they were to me. She asks good questions but doesn’t pry, you can just TELL how knowledgeable and smart she is about medications and such. It’s a good feeling to know you are in good hands. I also personally enjoy having female providers, so she does tick that box!
But yea, the fact I’m going to continue meeting with her as my psychiatrist every month even tho it’s video appointments is CRAZY for me !! Shows how great she is, in another way too. She also wants to taper me off a medication I probably should not have ever been put on, so that was a good sign that she agreed with my mom and I about the gabapentin. Anyways— Dr. Yamley is GREAT!
