She hails from Texas where she received her undergraduate degree from Rice University in Houston and medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. She completed her pediatric residency at NYU-Winthrop University Hospital in New York and received additional fellowship training in pediatric intensive care at Nemours/Alfred I. Dupont Hospital for Children. Today she practices as the medical director of Little Roots Pediatrics in Las Vegas.
