About Yehoshua Bochner

For many, being in emotional pain, suffering from depression and anxiety, or struggling with relationship difficulties has become a "norm" – "a way-of-life." Life can be complicated and even difficult at times, but emotional pain does not have to be part of it. Whether you are experiencing relationship difficulties, feeling sad or depressed, anxious, or lonely, psychotherapy is an important and effective way to finding happiness, self-acceptance, and to experience a general better quality of life. Whether you are experiencing milder difficulties, going through a life-transitional crisis, or in severe distress, you will greatly benefit of my empathic, supportive, and effective treatment. In therapy, you will become stronger and more confident and develop a capacity to navigate life with happiness and vigor. I have experience in a wide range of treatment modalities, including psychodynamic/psychoanalytic psychotherapies, CBT, and short-term and long-term psychotherapy. My diverse approaches culminate in offering a meaningful and healing psychotherapeutic experience. I have accumulated a wide-range of experiences including, working at The Brooklyn College Counseling Center, Beth Israel Hospital, The Institute for Psychoanalytic Training and Research (IPTAR), Satellite Academy high school, Mt. Sinai Hospital, and the New York Psychoanalytic Society and Institute (NYPSI). Seeking help is in of itself a courageous step. The psychotheraputic process can be overwhelming. You will feel comforted and supported when you reach out to me and ultimately see a significant improvement in your life. I am in-network with some insurances. If your insurance does not cover visits with me, I will help you with getting out-of-network reimbursement (if applicable).

Dr. Bochner is kind and patient. He was genuinely interested in me as a person and open to explore every aspect of my life. In the session, was able to untangle so many confusing feelings. I left feeling lighter and more optimistic about my future. I know that it’s a prolonged process, but for once I am feeling hopeful.

I have been struggling with depression for most of my life. I've seen my share of therapists. Dr. Bochner is a different league. He is kind, compassionate, and exceptionally perceptive. First, he was interested in a through history of my struggles but simultaneously made comments that made me say oh, I get it. That's an interesting take on my experience. He portrayed an excellent grasp of my issues and was able to make me feel comfortable opening-up and feel more optimistic about my future. I am very glad that I found him and look forward to working with him.
