What should a new client know about working with you?

Working with me is a collaborative process centered on you—your values, your goals, and the life you want to build. I believe therapy is about discovering how you want to live and helping you get there in a way that feels realistic and meaningful. I strive to meet every person with compassion, empathy, and understanding. You can expect a space where you feel heard and respected, and where we can talk openly about what’s been difficult without judgment. At the same time, I believe therapy is hard work. When appropriate, I will challenge you, because real change often requires an honest self-assessment of patterns, beliefs, and behaviors that may be keeping you stuck. My goal is to support you while helping you move toward insight and breakthrough. I provide both psychotherapy and medication management. Together, we will find the best approach that fits your unique needs and goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My typical process for working with clients starts with an initial psychiatric evaluation. In the first session, I want to understand what brings you in, learn about your relevant history, and clarify your goals for treatment. I will ask many questions to get to know you. Then we collaboratively design an individualized treatment plan tailored to your needs. Most often, this plan includes weekly therapy sessions, and in some cases, medication management. In other cases, medications alone are provided with regular follow ups.
