About Dr. Yossef Blum
Yossef Blum, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with a focus in primary and revision hip and knee replacement, as well the nonsurgical management of hip and knee arthritis. He specializes in less-invasive techniques, blood conserving options, advanced pain management, custom joint replacement, and partial knee replacement. Dr. Blum currently serves as Assistant Clinical Director of the Joint Replacement Center.
Dr. Blum received his B.A. at Yeshiva University, where he was class valedictorian. Dr. Blum received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He completed his residency training in orthopedic surgery at Montefiore and a fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery with a focus on knee and hip replacement.
In addition to presenting his findings at national meetings, Dr. Blum has authored several papers and chapters on his specialty. He is a fellow member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), a fellow member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS), and a member of the Eastern Orthopedic Association (EOA). He speaks Spanish and Hebrew fluently.

My experience with Dr. Blum's office went like clockwork. I was seen exactly on time. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Dr. Blum explained what was happening with my right knee and answered all my questions. I will have a follow up as soon as I can get an MRI.

There was a young man named Singh, that made my experience a whole lot more comfortable. He explained my options with the cortisone shot. He even pulled up an image of knee injuries and explained where the injury is, how it’s connected to other parts of my knee, what exercises are fine and which to avoid (running) He explained the next step could potentially be physical therapy or an operation, but only the sports doctor will know for sure. He explained parts of mri report and what exactly is arthritis to the knee area. I was so grateful for his extra 3 minutes.
Dr. Blum, didn’t want to waste a second more with me. I had questions and concerns and he just brushed it off as normal. He did not explain anything on my mri report. Both visits were very rushed and i left with more questions than answers. Thank you Singh, for giving me details and answering a couple of questions. He really helped me to calm down, and understand the prognosis

When I got to my appointment there were like 20 people waiting
I finally got in and the dr saw me for 3 minutes.
I couldnt even ask a question he was rushing because he had overbooked. He gave me knee injections and he left. I was so disappointed on the visit. After my hel injections I do not plan on going back.

I was told he was a good doctor but his bedside manner is horrible. He gave me 3 mins and ran out didn't even explain some of my questions. I was disappointed. I think it's because I'm old but I won't be returning at all.

My experience was great, The doctor was awesome, and he made me feel relaxed. I was extremely nervous at first. The assistant who came to drain my knee was awesome. It was a very good experience . I will be going back for my follow-up, and I would recommend Dr. Blum to my family and friends.

Not so happy overall. I had to wait more than 1 hour despite the fact that I filled everything online. The doctor seemed unconfident with the problem as he stated it is not his specialty despite that his title is as orthopedic.
However, the office and the facility was overall very good.

Dr. Blume is a great doctor I really like him he’s professional he knows what he’s doing however the wait time today was more than I expected.. I’m only going by the review today on a whole make an early appointment you’re better off. I had a later appointment than I would usually take..no more.
Office is clean. The staff is very nice.
One more thing I never understand orthopedic office being on the 10th and 11th floor when you have knee problems and from the lobby its a lot.

This is my second time visiting with Dr. Blum and I was a little surprised that I was rushed and he only wanted to discuss having knee surgery. No alternative options and the conversation was limited to only that decision. I will be seeking a second opinion before I agree to such an invasive procedure. However, he did help me out with the pain in my knee and I feel much better.

The first time I went to this office there was a lot of people and I felt I was going to be there all day… That wasn’t the case the office runs smooth it’s efficient the staff very nice and the office organized… it was as good of an experience as it could be going to the doctor after all my knees were killing me! In and out in a half hour.
Definitely would recommend this doctor and office.

I waited over 90 mins to see this doctor then i was told to do an x-ray before i saw him, which was another 30min wait. When I finally saw, the man barely looked at me or allowed me to explain my situation, he just keep rattling off questions. I scheduled me for an MRI a month from then, but when i called for a doctor's note so I could go back to work, no one answer any of my vms. Worst experience ever.

Everything went great! I came in for what I thought was a knee strain/ sprain. The X-ray process was a little tedious as it is on a different floor and they were a little backed up that day but I was still seen within the hour. The doctor and his PA were very thorough, kind and helpful. They drained a significant amount of fluid off my knee and got me on the road to recovery.

I came looking for a surgery for a very painful hip fracture and explained that the medecine I'm on for pain does not help, and thought I was gonna get some prescription to at lease help me sleep, and I did not get any. If I am going to allow you to perform surgery on me, at least I want to know you understand the nature of a hip badly fractured. I dont think I will follow up and rather would go to another hospital for a second opinion.
