About Dr. Yvette McQueen

Yvette McQueen, MD, is a global physician on a mission to educate about health, travel wellness, and disease prevention. She is an Emergency Medicine Physician and Travel Doctor, working across the US and the Caribbean. Dr. McQueen received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Toledo Medical College of Ohio and completed her Emergency Medicine Residency at St. John Medical Center in Detroit, MI. She has worked at academic centers teaching EM residents and medical students, community hospital emergency departments, and urgent care centers. Dr. McQueen currently serves as a Locum Tenens physician in Emergency Medicine and Urgent Care; holds several active state medical licenses as well as one in Malawi, East Africa; and sits on the Board of Directors for the College of Urgent Care Medicine. Dr. McQueen also serves as a travel group physician, ensuring the health and safety of clients before and during international trips. She is a bestselling author, speaker, blogger, consultant, CPR and First Aid instructor, and provides wilderness emergency care training and international teaching for the American Heart Association. She organizes medical missions to Africa, conducts hospital training and teaching in Rwanda and Tanzania, and participates in international church missions. Dr. McQueen is passionate about educating travelers on health and travel wellness.
