If it were possible I would give Dr. Zachary Bregman 10 stars. During the course of my adult life I have had many experiences with doctors both for myself and my family. Living in the metropolitan New York City area I have always felt that we are fortunate to have access to some of the world’s best physician’s. In that regard I believe that Dr. Bregman is among the “Best of the Best”. From my first visit to his office to this day the professionalism and care he and his staff have provided has been phenomenal. I find him to be genuinely concerned about my health and well being. He is extremely knowledgeable, intuitive, and thorough and takes the time to sit down with you to discuss every detail of your visit. The staff is wonderful. They are not only professional but warm and friendly and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. I can’t speak highly enough of Dr. Bregman and his staff. My family and I are fortunate to have found such a skilled and caring physician.

Knowledgable and spent enough time with patient to be sure that all questions were answered. Very thorough, recommended!
He was awesome - Straight and to the point. No-nonsense and didn't make me wait. How rare is that? Thanks, Dr. Bregman!

Arrogant and belittling and rude. Is not an active listener or compassionate at all. It's his way or the highway.
He was in a rush, as he was running slightly late. Can't complain overall, as he was very thorough for my physical
Very knowledgeable and attentive doctor. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for competent healthcare.

excellent internist. very solicitous and spends the time to try to understand what;s ailing the patient.
Dr. Bregman is fantastic. Wait time is significant but he spends a lot of time with patients.

Dr. Bregman was very professional. The office is a bit dumpy but staff was polite.
Cured me of my chest pressure and tightness and gave me a flu shot. Great doctor.

Dr.Bregman was s star. Superior service and care and made my appointment seem to go by quickly with his wonderful caring and realistic personality. Very thorough and followed up personally with my results and was patient in answering my questions days later over the phone. One of the best doctors/specialists I've seen in NY

Office staff kept things moving quickly, the nurse that saw me for basic testing was WONDERFUL. Dr. Bregman was quick, efficient, and to the point. Provided me with all the information I needed and made sure all my needs were met.
Absolutely the best doctor ever. Prior to finding him I used 3 other doctors who I did not feel like they were interested in me noir did they follow up on anything. He followed up found out what was wrong and we took action to correct the issue. Highly recommend him.
I was and still am unhappy about my visit. He had a medical student following him and I didn't appreciate how condescending he was to the student. He made the student hang up my coat and drilled him on terms from my medical record. I didn't feel heard or like the doctor was listening very closely to my concerns. He sent me to get an X-ray when in my records from the past, it showed that ct scans were what identified findings. His office was also dingy and cluttered. The only positive part about the visit was how nice the receptionist and nurse were.
Today was my second visit with Dr. Bregman and I could not be happier. Initially, I went to him with a bacterial bronchitis after my former GP prescribed me an ASTMA inhaler(!?) for it without spending the time investigating what the cause was. I was unhappy, stressed and felt the need for a second opinion and that is how I found Dr. Bregman. He prescribed me the correct medication, I started taking it right away and felt better within 24 hours, bronchitis was gone in 3 days and I never even purchased the expensive ASTMA inhaler prescribed by my former doc. I was impressed with Dr. Bregman's manner and decided to switch to him as my GP. He went ahead with a general exam/blood/urine work, took the time to get to know me and asked all the right questions. At the follow–up he explained me the test results in details, gave me valuable advices of how to improve some of the numbers and live a healthier lifestyle. I highly recommend Dr. Bregman and his team!
Very professional and knowledgeable!

Direct and detailed, no messing around. Takes great medical history and does it himself. Friendly back office staff to put you at ease.
I went for a standard physical about a year ago, when Dr Bregman discussed another patient's medical record with his nurse infront of me. While the visit was sufficient, I felt it unprofessional to be disrupted in the middle of my appointment and unethical to discuss another patient overall. Would not recommend.
Dr. Bregman is nice enough, but doesn't seem to really listen to his patients. I went in with a complex problem and a referral for a specific issue with a specific, objective diagnosis. He disagreed, wanted to spend a lot of time and my money on other tests which I did, and finally since his test results came back as fine (disregarding other very abnormal blood labs) asked if I wanted a psych referral. I'm sorry, but I'd spend my time with someone who has graduated medical school a little more recently.
Overall positive experience besides for the wait time. Granted he waived our copay but I would've preferred that hour of my life back.
I went to Dr. Bregman's office for a general checkup and had some additional medical concerns. This is a tiny office and they have a cute beagle who walks around sometimes. The staff got me checked in immediately and I was quickly in the exam room. The assistant was very nice and walked me through the standard physical procedures quickly and expertly. Dr. Bregman seems very smart and experienced but has a no-nonsense manner - He commented on my concerns quickly with no small talk. I was very comfortable with this but if you are looking for a doctor who is a little gentler or friendly this might not be a great fit. Overall my first impressions were good and I plan on returning.
took his time.. knows his stuff.. only waited a few minutes to see Dr after I filled out paperwork.. He told me if I ever have an asthma attack to just show up to his office, no appt necessary.. I would say that is pretty awesome.. this was my first appt with him and I am supposed to follow up in about 2 months.. but, so far, so good :-)

Doctor Bregman is one of these rarely seen professionals in the US that would not make you feel like you went to chat with a suit wearing businessman that will just prescribe you pills and charges the insurance hundreds of dollars for it. He spent the time to get to know me and asked me all the right questions. Took various tests that were needed, made me feel comfortable, gave me a direction and advices and I left his office feeling much much better! I would would highly recommend Dr Bregman! Ev
Dr Bregman is all the good adjectives; knowledgeable, competent, professional, helpful. I went to see him for a pulmonology proble

Needed a pulmonary 2nd opinion and chose Dr. Bregman. I had to wait over an hour, and while I was sitting there I had to listen to a very unprofessionally acting nurse/front desk staff lady yelling and cursing into the phone while checking someone's insurance status. Looking around the waiting room, everyone else seemed quite uncomfortable with this situation too. After an hour or so I finally saw Dr. Bregman. His office STANK (there is no other way to describe it, sorry). No open window, his office door closed, no fresh air. I almost left immediately, but chose to wait it out. Dr. Bregman then constantly interrupted me, asserting his "I'm the doctor and know better than you" attitude, telling me far-fetched stories and going off on a tangent which had NOTHING to do with the reason of my visit. Eventually, after about 40 minutes of lecturing he then decides to become my new primary care physician and fills out addtl. forms with questions all related to "new patient" data. Dr. Bregman has a very domineering personality and the overall visit was VERY unpleasant. Needless to say I'll never return back to his office. On the positive side, his nurse who administered the lung breathing tests and took blood work is a VERY nice lady.
Very dry, funny guy who is matter of fact and no non sense. Pleasant yet can be read wrong if you don't see his sense of humor.
I'm so thankful I found Dr. Bregman and his team. I was feeling horrible over the weekend and he saw me right away. His team was really accommodating and even cleared a room for me to lay down while I waited for my x-ray results. Dr. Bregman was so thoughtful and made sure I got my x-rays done quickly. He explained everything in such detail I felt much better about my diagnosis afterwards. I really could not speak more highly of a doctor in NYC. Thank you thank you!
I've been going to Dr Bregman for years. He has a BIG personality which might not be everyone's cup of tea, but for me it means that every appointment is entertaining. He truly cares about his patients, knows A LOT, has great intuition, and will spend as much time with you as it takes. Which also might mean that your waiting room time might be a bit longer.
Dr Bregman is a very personable doctor. He remembers who you are and is generally interested in you so can give you excellent personalised advice and treatment. His staff are friendly and wait times are pretty good.

Dr. Bregman is a straight-to-the-point type of guy, which I really appreciated but may be a turn off to some. He was very inquisitive and thorough with my medical history. There are a lot of doctors that just look at test results and immediately jump to a diagnosis without much thought. Dr. Bregman definitely takes his time and asks a lot of questions before jumping to any conclusions, which I also really appreciated.

very knowledgeable doctor - highly recommended.

Great doctor. Very honest and to the point. Wait time was long because of an emergency he had to deal with, but I don't think it's the norm.
Very nice guy, was interested in finding out what was wrong with me more than just getting me in and out of the office. Also educated me, instead of just telling me what was wrong.
Never been with a doctor willing to take so much time with thier patient. You may wait in the waiting room, but never rushed in the patient room. Great diagnostician!

I rarely visit doctors, and do not like the approach of most. Dr. Bregman made me feel comfortable, and for the first time I felt there was a doctor who really listened and cared. I am glad I found him. And his staff is very nice too.
Verified patient
Dr. Bregman was very knowledgeable and very thorough. He did an excellent job of reviewing my medical history and most recent results.
Verified patient
Dr. Bregman is clearly knowledgeable, intelligent and detail oriented, and his friendly but pragmatic approach to patient care instills confidence.
Dr cares about patients health. Dr expressed some concern over things that I have let fall to the way side, due to life (you know busy) and I will get to it next week type of attitude and next week turns into a month and then a year or two or more. Referred me to two other Drs that I need to see for other problems. I would highly recommend this Dr especially to someone who has issues with breathing.
Verified patient
Friendly, funny, thorough, and caring. Dr. Bregman was the first doctor I visited after moving to NYC, and he will be the last - I recommend him to anyone in need of a primary care physician or internist.
