Zamar's expertise in traditional medicine and Jamaican medical ethnobotany has led to collaborations as a research associate and consultant in ethnopharmacology projects with Dr. Cedric Baker of Mercer University, College of Pharmacy. This work, published in 2019, focused on the molecular nutrition and pharmacology of tropical food plants and resulted in a poster on Translational Phytotoxicology presented at Harvard Medical School in September 2019. Her motivation is to contribute to improving individuals' quality of life one person at a time. Additionally, she has a passion for art and enjoys painting and drawing nature and humanity.
