Dr. Zareen Taj Syed is Board Certified in Family Medicine and proudly serves patients from Edison, Perth Amboy, Scotch Plains, Rahway, Clark, and Fords. She is well-qualified and experienced to provide continuing and comprehensive medical care, preventive services, and urgent care to every member of your family starting at 6 years of age.
Dr. Syed earned her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from Deccan College of Medical Sciences. She completed her Residency in Family Medicine at Case Western Reserve University, MetroHealth Medical Center, and pursued a Fellowship in Geriatrics at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.

Dr. Syed, herself, is a smart doctor. But her receptionist is incredibly incompetent and very rude. She doesn’t return calls. She doesn’t follow directions. She gets loud with patients (imagine that with the elderly!). I also don’t like that the office charges patients to fill out simple paperwork. No other doctor has ever charged me to fill out any paperwork (this was basic info (height, weight, etc.) for insurance). The office could also use a cleaning. I cancelled my follow-up appointment for so many reasons but mostly because of the front desk receptionist. I would rather go somewhere where I’m treated nicely.

What I love about this place—superficial & trivial as it may sound to most:
A. That there was no long wait for me [even though the waiting room was peaceful with no annoying television set playing something stupid...as most waiting rooms do].
B. There's only one phone number, so you won't get confused with how to get a hold of them. Likewise, far as far as I know, there's one parent company at most, so it's really simple & direct to fax, get referrals, etc. [My previous doctor's office company was so confusing, and I never knew whom to call if I had an issue...and I think they preferred it that way.]
C. The staff is really friendly and "chill."
D. Dr. Syed is both extremely learned and caring — but more so than that, she's an outstanding listener & even a bit of a mentor. Having a conversation is quite natural and smooth. She's the type of doctor you just want to be friends with.

At most, I think the parking was a little confusing, but I think that if you just call the office in advance & ask them where the best spot to leave your car is, they'd definitely advise you on that. [It was my first time, so I was a tad perplexed.]
I really enjoyed my stay there! It was simple & quick—and led me to want to make this my new primary care physician!

They tried injecting me with an expired (Feb 2017) B12 (CYANOCOBALAMIN) - 1000mcg shot on June 2, 2017. She kind of makes sure that you keep going to her, so that she can charge your insurance. The very fact she had expired medications in her dirty fridge and her staff trying to inject me, makes me question her integrity. Bed side manners are zero (negative). She tried intimidating me when I said, I would post a review. She returned me my money for the shots that she had charged me. STAY AWAY.

Doctor Syed was extremely professional and very thorough. Her bedside manner was caring and calm. She did a really good job of laying out potential treatment options and took time to explain everything to me and answer questions. I felt like I was valued as a patient. I would highly recommend her.
