About Dr. Zeyad Loubnan

I actually wrote that I wanted to become a doctor in my 8th grade graduation yearbook. Growing up, I was an avid learner of biology and chemistry, and I wanted to pursue something that would allow me to help people directly. I earned my Bachelor's degree from Drexel University and went on to attend Sidney Kimmel Medical College, where I received my Doctor of Medicine. During college, I completed an internship with a group of surgeons, and after my first day in the operating room, I knew I wanted to become a surgeon. I completed my residency in General Surgery at One Brooklyn Health-Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center and later pursued a fellowship in Bariatric Surgery at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital. Bariatric Surgery allows me to help patients who have struggled with obesity for most of their lives. It is truly my pleasure to assist patients in changing their lives for the better after surgery. I like to encourage my patients by reminding them that, with my help and the support of the entire caregiving team, there is no problem or situation we cannot overcome. I want to instill confidence in my patients that they are making the right decisions for their health. Outside of the office, I enjoy playing both indoor and outdoor volleyball and am a passionate soccer fan-my favorite team is Manchester United. I also like going to the movies and traveling around the world. My advice to patients is simple: please ask questions! There are no stupid questions when it comes to your health. The more informed you feel, the more confident you will be in your healthcare decisions.
