About Dr. Zoila Flashner
A native of Mexico with a background in biochemistry, Dr. Flashner immigrated to this country as a young woman. She was soon able to enroll in the University of Illinois at Chicago and graduated summa cum laude from Rush University, where she also received the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Health Science Undergraduate Student. Dr. Flashner earned her medical degree from New York University School of Medicine, where she was selected for the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. During her years at NYU Dr. Flashner became interested in dermatology and worked at the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center doing research on the prevalence of HTLV-1 proviral DNA in mycosis fungoides and was a co-author on several publications in clinical dermatology. Dr. Flashner completed a year of internship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in NYC and completed her dermatology training at the State University of New York Health Science Center in Brooklyn, where she participated in clinical research studies. Dr. Flashner’s primary focus has been on early detection and prevention of skin cancer, and she is a volunteer at skin cancer screenings. She has extensive experience in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology and has been in private practice for seventeen years. Dr. Flashner strives to provide personalized patient care and enjoys working with ethnic skin and understands their concerns. Dr. Flashner is conversational in three languages and is a board-certified fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.

Dr. Flashner was great--experienced, professional, and straightforward. I was in for an annual skin screening, which she performed thoroughly and efficiently. She quickly identified important issues to discuss and gave me her recommendation on the course of action. Despite the brief appointment (which is something I appreciate), I felt cared for.

This was the most complete skin check I have ever had. Dr. Flashner is very through and professional. I have confidence in her care. The office staff is very pleasant and apologized for running late, I only waited 10 minutes. For a doctor’s office that is on time.

I have been seeing Dr. Flashner for several years and recommend all my friends who have need of a dermatologist. Dr Flashner has saved my life by discovering melanoma twice in the very early stages and by recommending treatments. I wouldn't go to anyone else. She is so thorough.!!!!

So far she has been excellent. Understood the issue with my sons eczema and right now it looks like his eczema may be clearing. This is years after going to multiple doctors with no success. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Overall very good visit. Her manner is a bit abrupt which maybe off putting for some, but i never felt as if i wasn't be heard, or my concerns diminished. Be careful when making an appointment through ZocDoc as the office wasn't aware of my appointment until i called the day before.

I filled out all the online paperwork for the doctor's office on this site that was supposed to "save time filling out forms" but the receptionist said the paperwork on the site was outdated so i had to do it all over again when i arrived for my appointment. Those forms need to be removed it's misleading & a waste of time
