Getting to know Zubair Khan
Empathy is seeing with the eyes of another, listening with the ears of another and feeling with the heart of another” -Alfred Adler Feeling heard, understood, and building empathy into the structure of healthcare often leads to improved patient satisfaction and treatment outcomes. My goal for each client is to provide individualized treatment plans while offering an understanding and non-judgmental space to all clients, regardless of their background and beliefs. My interest peaked in Psychiatry while working at a Chicago community hospital on a one-to one basis with suicidal and homicidal patients. I saw firsthand how empathy, compassion, and how applying a biopsychosocial and holistic approach can lead to such everlasting impacts on patient outcomes. This is what I strive to accomplish here in my practice at Clarity Clinic.
I am a licensed and nationally board-certified Physician Assistant (PA) with several years of medical experience across various settings and patient demographics. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at University of Illinois at Chicago, before I attended Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. During my clinical rotations, I gained experience in inpatient/outpatient psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, consult liaison hospital services, as well being a part of psychiatric decisional capacity team for the VA hospital in North Chicago. I have had the opportunity to work with various patients, including those struggling with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, schizophrenia, substance use disorder and borderline personality disorder. I understand that each patient has a diverse background and unique needs, which is why I will create personalized treatment plans that work with your current goals and circumstances in life. During your visit at Clarity Clinic, I hope to be an advocate for you and to provide a safe and welcoming environment to ensure the best patient care experience you deserve.
