This was the most COMPREHENSIVE ophthalmologist appointment in my 34 years on this earth. I had a stye removed but what struck me was that I was treated holistically - they did an allergy test which helped me understand the extent of my eye inflammation, and I also had a robust eye exam and x rays of my eye. Most importantly - they explained every step - I always knew what was going to happen next and how it would impact my overall eye health. Not only was Dr. Muller fantastic but every other professional in that office was kind, helpful and thorough. Dr. Potapova was very professional, nice and efficient. Good bedside manner, and she was very thorough with my eye screening. Office was pleasant and clean, and the location was good. The only downside was that the wait was an hour beyond my appointment time, though I think that is not unique -- it happens in most NYC medical offices after 1 PM if they accept any insurance and aren't super boutique/exclusive. Since it was later in the day, I would have appreciated a call in advance if they knew they were running that late, so I could have avoided running out of work for no reason (my hair salon can manage this for 15 minutes or more, not sure why doctors can't?). I scheduled a visit for my 13 year old son who is the most dramatic human being known to Earth. He gave Dr. Pilavas a run for his money. From screaming and refusing to receive the numbing eye drops because they "burn like hell" from causing Dr. Pilavas to spill all of the dilating eye drops... let's just say he is challenging. Dr. Pilavas kept his cool and used wit to make everyone feel as comfortable as possible. He was very informative and took the time (despise my son's outbursts) to explain exactly what was the matter with his vision problems.
