About Dr. Angel Mercado

Eddie Mercado, O.D. received his Doctor of Optometry from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 1998. He earned his undergraduate degree in Pre-Med Studies from Ohio Northern University in 1995. Growing up with moderately high nearsightedness, Dr. Mercado was introduced to optometry at a very young age. He was intrigued by the examination and amazed at how well glasses and contacts allowed him to see. Dr. Mercado says that being an optometrist enables him to create many times every day that same feeling he had when he could finally see more clearly. Dr. Mercado is an active member of the American Optometric Association, Ohio Optometric Association, and Miami Valley Society of Optometrists. He and his wife, Tammy, have three active children. In his free time, Dr. Mercado enjoys watching all his children's activities and participating in local triathlon events.

The “floating supervisor” (didn’t catch her name) is how I’ll address her. She was brilliant! I saw her throughout my experience . . . kind of like an unseen guide. Scant wait time, and smooth layout in lobby functional and yet homey. Leona was outstanding! She is so personable explained everything. Most importantly she was not embarrassed to ask for assistance in front of the me (the customer). This down-to-Earth personality made her welcoming. Yes, I'll be back and Vision Makers is sole source for me.

Picking out frames is always the hardest part. Sherry, store associate, helped me pick the perfect frame that fit my face. She gave me her honest opinion on about 8 different frames. I was there by myself, so it was nice to have a second opinion. And, no, the frames were not the most expensive. Matter of fact, it happened to be the cheapest one. BONUS!! Doctor was friendly and very efficient. He listened to my concerns and made sure I had the right prescription. I highly recommend VisionMakers in Kettering for quality service at very reasonable prices.
