Dr. Raiteri is a board-certified psychiatrist with many years of training and experience in both psychotherapy and psychopharmacology. He specializes in the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders with expertise in bipolar disorder and panic disorder. After studying literature and philosophy at Emory University, Dr. Raiteri earned his medical degree from Columbia University and was awarded the Michael H. Aranow Memorial Prize. The prize is given annually to the medical graduate best exemplifying the caring and humane qualities of the practicing physician. He did his psyschiatry residency at Weill Cornell Medical College where he served as the chief resident for the Consult-Liaison Service and acted as the consulting psychiatrist for the CBT Clinic. He joined the Cornell faculty after graduation and worked for two years as an attending on the inpatient unit. He continued teaching as voluntary faculty for a number of years and supervised residents in psychopharmacology. Dr. Raiteri completed four years of advanced training in psychoanalysis at Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research. He is also trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), transference focused psychotherapy (TFP), interpersonal psychotherapy (ITP) and supportive psychotherapy. Dr. Raiteri can provide a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and formulate a treatment strategy that is flexible and tailored to the specific needs and goals of the individual seeking help.
