Dr. Raiteri is a board-certified psychiatrist with many years of training and experience in both psychotherapy and psychopharmacology. He specializes in the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders, with particular expertise in bipolar disorder and panic disorder. After studying literature and philosophy at Emory University, Dr. Raiteri earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Columbia University, where he was awarded the Michael H. Aranow Memorial Prize. This prize is given annually to the medical graduate best exemplifying the caring and humane qualities of the practicing physician. He completed his psychiatry residency at Cornell University/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, serving as chief resident for the Consult-Liaison Service and acting as the consulting psychiatrist for the CBT Clinic. After graduation, he joined the Cornell faculty and worked for two years as an attending on the inpatient unit. He continued teaching as voluntary faculty for several years and supervised residents in psychopharmacology. Dr. Raiteri completed four years of advanced training in psychoanalysis at the Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research. He is also trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), transference-focused psychotherapy (TFP), interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT), and supportive psychotherapy. Dr. Raiteri provides comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and formulates treatment strategies that are flexible and tailored to the specific needs and goals of each individual seeking help.
