I am passionate about helping people lean into their journey of self-discovery and grow into personal healing and fulfillment. We all know that life can, and most likely will, bring many challenges our way. Some challenges we can easily navigate, while others leave us feeling overwhelmed and struggling to process our experiences and manage our emotions.
I have experience working in various health care settings including hospitals, community mental health, and kidney dialysis care. I have specializations in helping individuals and families manage chronic illness, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, life transitions, body image/eating disorders, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I believe that, no matter what may be standing in the way of your well-being, insightful and compassionate therapy can help you learn to identify the symptoms of the problem and find healing to move forward in your journey toward wholeness. I have experience working with a broad spectrum of people—teens, adults, couples, and families—whose journeys include a wide range of life situations.
My goal is to build a partnership with you by creating a safe and nonjudgmental space for you to come as you are. I focus on getting to know you holistically. I adhere to a person-centered approach to therapy and firmly believe in “person-first” language. Meaning, I will always choose words that recognize you first and foremost as a person with unique gifts and innate value. You are not defined by what you think about yourself or by what others think about you. You are more than your experiences. I am passionate about utilizing acceptance and commitment therapies, mindfulness techniques, and various cognitive behavioral therapies to help you sort through your emotions and evaluate your experiences.
