What should a new client know about working with you?

Growing up is exciting but there can be challenges along the way. I believe all children have amazing strengths. I also believe that parents want to help their kids to shine. My mission is to work with you to get a good handle of what’s going on, so we can equip you and your family with evidence-based solutions that bring about meaningful change. I bring a warm, open and inviting approach to therapy. I strongly believe in using evidence-based and effective treatments including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) to help kids reach their treatment goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Sessions are typically weekly and usually last one about 45 minutes. Each session is geared towards helping the child understand their feelings and thoughts, develop and learn appropriate coping skills. We use time to practice specific skills. Depending on the child's developmental age or interests we may utilize play therapy, art, or other expressive methods. Part of my role is to help the child meet their goals. Time is allocated to meeting with the parents. We want to hear from parents how things are going and to provide an update regarding skills that are to be practiced during the week and rewards for doing so. My goal is to help kids learn, develop and thrive!
