About Alexis Castano

Alex Castano, MS, OTR/L, began his journey as an Occupational Therapist assistant in 2017 and has been practicing in the field of occupational therapy for four years. He sees patients at Precision Rehab Occupational Physical & Hand Therapy, which has offices in the Fresh Meadows area in Queens, New York City, and Little Neck, New York. Alex began working in sub-acute rehabilitation before transitioning to hand therapy at Long Island Hand Therapy. While working as an OT assistant, Alex continued his education, obtaining a Masters of Science in occupational therapy at the New England Institute of Technology with a specialization in hand therapy in 2020. Alex continued improving his skill at Lenox Hill Hospital with rotations in the orthopedic and stroke department. In addition, Alex uses his experience as a personal trainer to maximize strength and endurance. Alex is dedicated to providing evidence-based treatment to assist in relieving pain, increasing strength, and helping clients return to their prior level of function. Alex believes in using a collaborative approach to develop a plan based on the client’s needs and personal goals.

I've been coming here for 8 months and it has been a pleasure. The staff in general, and flex and Alex in particular, are super professional and well-trained. Alex always goes the extra mile to make me feel comfortable and allows me to play an active role in my healing process by listening to my input and tailoring therapy to my specific needs.
