“I don't give out praise lightly, but Dr Friedman really earned it. I must admit that I can be a bit prickly. I have a long history of childhood trauma, but therapy with Dr Friedman helped me work out how it was impacting how I relate with people now, and not often in a good way. Maybe I'm still prickly at times, but I think, with the help of therapy, that I'm getting a bit better at opening up to people and giving them a chance. Thanks, Ariel!”

What is your typical process for working with clients?

"In therapy we will work together to create a supportive space in which you can experience safety and understanding while working towards extending yourself compassion even in moments of extreme stress and hopelessness. My goal will be to facilitate a relationship built on trust and humility as I work to understand your unique and complex story. In this space, we will help you make the changes needed to bring you relief. We will do this by increasing your insight into the connection between your history, relationship to others, and relationship to self. We will work from a strength-based model, emphasizing your inherent strengths and placing your struggles within your unique lived and cultural context."

I really enjoyed my sessions with Ariel. She was so warm, and I'm someone who needs to feel safe. I can't just open-up if the therapist is cold and distant and expects me to do all the talking without saying a word. I've had too many bad experiences like that. But Ariel was nothing like that at all. I felt like me were teammates, figuring things out together. She's one in a million.
I really feel heard by Dr Friedman. She has a special capacity to really get to the hub of the matter, to challenge me to articulate where I'm coming from, but always with empathy and compassion. I'm so glad I chose her to support me on my therapeutic journey.
I couldn’t have asked for a more caring and helpful therapist than Dr. Friedman. She makes me feel comfortable, listens with genuine interest, and her astute guidance has been a crucial part of my journey to mental and emotional well-being.
