Getting to know Dr. Ashley Coleman

"Hi, I’m Dr. Ashley E. Coleman, a licensed clinical psychologist dedicated to helping individuals and couples navigate life’s transitions, strengthen relationships, and build emotional resilience. I work with people facing anxiety, depression, and relational challenges, as well as high-achievers striving to balance success with well-being. I also specialize in working with athletes and performers who want to thrive without burning out. I believe therapy works best when it's rooted in trust, authenticity, and collaboration. My style is warm, engaging, and infused with empathy, humor, and curiosity. I draw from evidence-based practices to help you identify patterns that may be holding you back and explore new ways of thinking, relating, and moving forward. Whether you're navigating a tough season or seeking deeper alignment, I’m here to support your growth with care and intention. I earned my B.S. in Psychology from Howard University and my M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. My clinical training includes work at UCLA’s Counseling and Psychological Services, where I focused on supporting student-athletes and collegiate teams. I’m also a tenured professor and published author in the areas of sport psychology, women and spirituality, and stress and coping."

What should a new client know about working with you?

Dr. Coleman blends empathy, humor, and compassionate exploration to facilitate clients’ discovery of long-standing beliefs that are producing unpleasant feelings and maintaining undesirable behaviors. In addition to providing psychotherapy, Dr. Coleman is a tenured professor and an author in the areas of sports psychology, women and spirituality, and stress and coping.
