About Ashley Oakey

Neurological Rehabilitation I am an occupational therapist practicing in neurologic outpatient rehabilitation. I began my professional medical career as a developmental paraprofessional treating clients with Down's syndrome, cerebral palsy and people on the autism spectrum. I was certified as a Recreational Therapist in 2016 when I began working at an inpatient rehabilitation center in my home town in the San Francisco Bay Area. I fell in love with neurorehabilitation and being apart of my patient's recovery journey which influenced my decision to pursue a career in occupational therapy. I received my Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at the only international ACOTE accredited OT program, Brunel University London in the United Kingdom. I trained as an OT for 3 years in the National Health Service in emergency services, orthopedics, mental health, acute stroke and community neurorehabilitation. Over the years my passion for working with people and helping them live their fullest life has only grown! While I love living and traveling abroad, I value being near my family here in Utah. Additionally, Utah is the perfect place for participating in my preferred recreation activities of backpacking, rock climbing, canyoneering and skiing. I love to cook, craft and play game. I am always up for a good chat!
