“At first, I wasn't sure how comfortable I would feel opening up to a male provider, but Dr. Chayim made me feel at ease right from the beginning. He's incredibly warm, kind, and easy to talk to, and I never feel judged or uncomfortable sharing what's on my mind. What I appreciated most is that he genuinely cares and took the time to understand what I was going through. He listened, but also offered thoughtful perspectives that have really helped me. I've noticed a real difference since starting our sessions, and I always leave feeling heard, supported, and more confident. Finding a therapist you truly connect with isn't always easy, and I'm really grateful to have found him. I would absolutely recommend giving him a chance!”

Getting to know Dr. Chayim Rosensweig

People come to therapy for many reasons. Maybe you know exactly what you want help with, or perhaps you just know that something isn’t working and you are tired of feeling stuck. I believe meaningful therapy starts with taking the time to understand what you are experiencing and what matters most to you. My approach is rooted in the belief that it takes courage to lead a meaningful life, despite the barriers that often stand in the way. Our identities and backgrounds shape our values, goals, fears, and hopes, and I believe understanding these experiences is essential to appreciating another person’s perspective and humanity. When we work together, I would like to get to know you as a whole person, not only to learn about the difficulties you are facing, but also your personal history, relationships, values, and circumstances that shape your life. I completed my Psychology Doctorate at the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology and have worked with individuals navigating a range of concerns across psychotherapy settings, including anxiety, depression, grief, OCD, ADHD, relationship difficulties, and trauma-related concerns. These experiences have reinforced my sincere belief that effective therapy requires both a strong clinical foundation and an individualized approach. I strive to approach each person with warmth, curiosity, and respect, seeking to appreciate the whole person, consisting of the difficulties they face as well as the experiences and strengths that make them who they are. My goal is to work with you to develop a clearer understanding of what’s happening and find a path toward changes that feel meaningful to you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe therapy should be tailored to you and your needs, rather than expecting you to fit a particular approach. I draw on evidence-based psychological research to guide my work, incorporating approaches that have been thoughtfully studied and found to be effective, while remaining flexible in how I apply what we know to meet your individual needs. I integrate cognitive-behavioral therapy, acceptance-based principles, and psychodynamic theories to understand how our experiences shape our thoughts, beliefs, emotions, relationships, and behaviors. Sometimes our work may involve recognizing patterns that keep recurring or understanding how past experiences influence the present. At other times, we may focus on practical skills, finding new ways to experience or respond to difficult thoughts and feelings, or taking steps towards something important to you. Often, understanding the sources of our struggles and finding ways to move towards our values go hand in hand. I aim to work collaboratively with you, grounded by genuine curiosity about, and care for, your experiences, guided by what matters to you. Ultimately, I hope to help you better understand yourself, pursue what matters most to you, and recognize what may be getting in the way, even when doing so feels difficult.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our early sessions are an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin to understand how I can best support you. I will ask about what you have been experiencing, how it has been affecting your life, and what you hope might change. You don’t need to arrive with everything figured out or know exactly where to begin. Part of our early work is making sense of your experiences and identifying what you would like to change. As we develop a clearer picture of what’s happening, we will work together to identify goals and decide where to focus. Sessions may involve exploring recurring patterns, considering how your experiences and circumstances have shaped the way you respond to challenges, examining thoughts and behaviors that contribute to your difficult experiences, practicing skills for managing distress, or figuring out how to approach a situation differently. We will keep your goals, priorities, and what you hope to get out of therapy at the center of our sessions. Throughout our work together, we will check in about how things are going and whether our work is helping. Depending on what concerns we are addressing, this may involve reflecting on changes in your daily life or using brief questionnaires to track symptoms and personal progress. Tracking symptoms or other concerns between sessions can help us establish a starting point, notice changes over time, and better understand whether our approach is helping. My goal is for therapy to be a collaborative process that helps you better understand your struggles, reconnect with what matters to you, and make changes that feel meaningful and sustainable.
