He is an advanced psychoanalytic candidate at the Psychoanalytic Center of the Carolinas and member of the American Psychoanalytic Association. What should a new client know about working with you?

Psychiatric treatment should not just be about providing medicine, but to help you understand what you may be unaware of, recurring patterns that may be sabotaging or affecting you negatively, to freeing you from mental duress. To allow yourself to enjoy life, have more resilience with adversity, and help expand your true self. I work with professionals, entrepreneurs, and creatives who want more than quick fixes or rushed appointments. My approach is collaborative, personalized, and designed to help you regain clarity, stability, and momentum. We focus not just on symptom relief, but optimizing how you think, feel, and perform. After an initial thorough assessment (90 mins), I will provide options to help you. These modalities can vary depending on your needs, interests, goals, and levels of depth you want to reach. I am capable of using conventional psychiatric medicines, alternative/novel medicines in the psychedelic arena, such as ketamine assisted therapy, psychedelic integration, and also psychoanalytic therapies, which encourage depth. All treatments above may work in conjunction with each other and are not mutually exclusive. I am interested in truly understanding what is happening to you. Once we take the journey together, many things can awaken and develop, yet it is ultimately you, who is empowered by the insight, and has the option and agency for change. However, we can't truly change unless we understand what happened/is happening, as bypassing the conflict/complex/problem may only provide temporary respite, yet not true wisdom, nor authentic healing.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

FOR ALL INITIAL VISITS, RECOMMEND A 10-15 MIN CALL TO COORDINATE THE VISIT, AND GET YOUR REASON/S OF INTEREST. Visits can be completed in-person or virtually, and parking is available on premises. The initial consultation is 90 min., and thereafter most visits are a 60 min. block. These visits may vary in frequency depending on the level of depth and treatment you are looking for. Psychoanalysis proper is generally 3-4x/week, while psychotherapy is weekly to bi-weekly. Ketamine assisted therapy visits are 2hrs, with an additional hour of integration usually the following day or within the week. For individuals that are stable and only interested in medication check-ups, the visits could be infrequent and a 30 min. block. The nice thing about our therapeutic relationship is that anything on your mind is fair game, irrespective of it being good, bad, or ugly, even towards me. Dreams and fantasies are also welcomed, as this allows us to tap in to sources of your mind that may not be fully understood or shared. We tend to operate with ghosts from our past, so as we better understand what has a hold of us, we can then allow ourselves to let go or make changes to better ourselves.

    Great listener
Dr. Reusche facilitates a truly open and safe therapeutic space where I can be completely myself. He has not only helped me over come my panic attacks, ADHD and life long anxiety, he has helped me feel more connected to others and more aligned with my true self! Throughout treatment I have had many “Aha! moments” that have led to major positive changes in my life. I am absolutely blown away by my continued progress(so are my friends and family) and so proud of what has been achieved. The work, treatment and knowledge that Dr. Reusche provides is extraordinary. I highly recommend!
Dr. Reusche is a wonderful psychiatrist. He is compassionate, empathetic, and is the first Psychiatrist I've seen in South Carolina, who has a clue about how to help someone with PTSD and trauma. After going to many Psychiatrists professing to help with PTSD and trauma, only to discover they only write prescriptions, or provide lame cognitive behavioral therapy (at best), Dr. Reusche was more than just a welcome relief from what is the norm here - he was a unicorn. I am continuing to see him virtually, and am very happy that he is willing to do so. I cannot recommend him enough!
I have been a patient for 6 years. Dr. Reusche has been great. He genuinely cares for his patients and I trust him implicitly.
Dr Reusche is compassionate, trustworthy and invested in my son’s care. He is the first psychiatrist to provide therapy as well as prescribing medication. He was instrumental in helping my son accept his condition and prescribed medications that he would comply with. I have the utmost respect for Dr Reusche and highly recommend him.
Dr. Reusche is always pleasant to work with. He is great at what he does. If you need a psychiatrist I highly recommend him.
Dr. Reusche and I have been working together for many years. Very easy to talk to, open minded, and nonjudgemental. The part I value most is his ability to remember details or ideas I mention in passing that seem insignificant in the moment but over time result a pattern of behavior or thinking I couldn't or wouldn't see otherwise.
I can't thank Dr. Reusche enough for changing my life. Under his care, I've experienced a remarkable transformation. He creates a safe and welcoming space where I can share my struggles. With empathy and expertise, he provides accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans. Dr. Reusche is a true professional who has made a profound impact on my mental well-being. I highly recommend him to others seeking a life-changing psychiatrist.
Dr. Reushce is a paragon of professionalism. I have routinely seen Dr. Reushce for over a year, and throughout this period, I have noticed significant strides in my personal development. Dr. Reuchce's extensive knowledge of pharmacology, in combination with his psychotherapeutic training, gives him a holistic diagnostic perspective, which is invaluable to comprehensively addressing patients' issues. Before meeting Dr. Reushce, I had some dissatisfactory experiences with other practitioners, causing me to lose belief in the efficacy of therapy. My experience with Dr. Reushce as a personable and trustworthy communicator has restored and even strengthened this belief.
