“I had trimalleolar left ankle surgery 2020 and have been suffering residual pain on my left feet , he did acupuncture and PT i m feeling marginally better and I will give 1-2 month to-see how I restore. He is kind and caring I think I will give a try to better my recovery. ”

Dr. Chung-Ying (Fred) Tsai is a dedicated licensed physical therapist and acupuncturist serving patients in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens, NY. As one of the few providers licensed in both Physical Therapy and Acupuncture, please note the following regarding insurance acceptance. FOR ACUPUNCTURE: he is ONLY in-network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and UnitedHealthcare. FOR PHYSICAL THERAPY: we accept all insurance plans listed. We also provide affordable payment packages for patients whose insurance does not cover acupuncture services.
Dr. Tsai completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in physical therapy at National Yang-Ming University in Taiwan. He earned a second master’s degree in physical therapy from New York University. Additionally, he holds a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine and a Master’s in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego and New York.
His specialties include orthopedic physical therapy and traditional Chinese-style acupuncture. Dr. Tsai specializes in Chinese acupuncture, Chinese herbs, acupressure, Chinese Tui-Na technique, Western osteopathic spinal manipulation, soft tissue release, and therapeutic exercise to address pain management (neck, shoulder, lower back, knee, and ankle joint or muscular pain), general fatigue, facial palsy, headache, dizziness and vertigo, insomnia, depression and anxiety, irregular menstruation, male conditions, menopause syndrome, weight management, and more. Dr. Tsai’s understanding and compassionate demeanor help patients relax so they can receive all the benefits of quality physical therapy and acupuncture.
