BECOMING PRESENT is a full time Private Practice with offices in both New York City and Williamsburg Brooklyn. Specializing in individual and couples therapy, BECOMING PRESENT integrates Mindfulness into daily living. Founded in 2003 by Daniel Tisman, a licensed New York State psychotherapist. I come to my practice with a 15-year background in theatre and the dramatic arts and am a long time student of yoga and Vipassana or "insight" meditation. Gestalt therapy is a present centered, mind-body therapy that includes amongst its influences: Existentialism, Psychodrama and Eastern Philosophies. All of which have been life long interests of mine. I am honored to be a full faculty member of the Gestalt Center for Psychotherapy and Training in New York City. Please note there may be last minute appointments as the website doesn’t always reflect cancellations.

He is a very caring therapist with a wide array of techniques to deal with anxiety & depression. He mixes eastern practices with more modern ones, which is a nice balance.

Recommended by a friend. I'd recommend him to anyone seeking compassionate but straight forward care. Calm demeanor and ability to get into the difficult stuff without judgement.

Finding the right therapist for my 15 year old child was very challenging. Daniel connected with my son right away. As a therapist Daniel is warm and supportive and very professional. My son stayed in therapy with Daniel for three yearsand ended up at a great college. Daniel literally gave me back my relationship with my son and I am forever grateful. I recommend and endorse him 100%.
