Dean Millard earned his doctorate in physical therapy from Arcadia University in Glenside, Pennsylvania. Prior to graduate school, Dean earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biology at West Chester University, where he was a running back on the football team. His years as an athlete are where his passion for injury prevention, rehab, and performance all began. Before joining Ivy Rehab, Dean worked in several outpatient orthopedics and sports medicine clinics. He previously specialized in higher-level athletics and injuries involving the hip and core, which helped him develop a “total body” approach to treating various orthopedic conditions. His most recent experience covered a wide spectrum of injuries, ranging from adolescents to geriatrics, and acute post-operative to chronic overuse injuries of the spine and upper and lower extremities. Throughout his professional career, Dean has earned certifications in Kinesio® taping and as a Level 1 running gait analyst. He is also Titleist Performance Institute Medical Level 2 Certified. His other continuing education courses have focused primarily on hands-on approaches and the athletic population, including the McKenzie Method, manual interventions and exercise interventions for the hip, instrument-assisted soft-tissue mobilization using HawkGrips, blood flow restriction, and running mechanics exercise intervention. In his spare time, Dean enjoys spending time with his wife, Nicole; his daughters, Ava and Hailey; and his son, Dean. Dean is an avid golfer and enjoys being outdoors, grilling, and watching sports.
