Hi there, I'm Dineytra!
My name is Dineytra (pronounced Da-nay-tra) Lee-Perez, and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. As a proud therapist who has a therapist, I am an advocate for the de-stigmatization and normalization of mental illness, and for the promotion of mental health awareness and education throughout all communities. Using an integrative approach, my goal is to help you improve your daily functioning and achieve the quality of life that you deserve.
My approach
My approach to providing therapy is all about creating connections. I place a very high value on ensuring that clients feel SEEN and HEARD. I often refer to myself as a mirror, a mirror that helps clients see themselves more clearly. My "out of the box" approach integrates elements from the four primary frameworks (humanistic, behavioral, cognitive, and psychoanalytic) and often involves use of mindfulness, creative and expressive arts interventions.
My focus
Much of my clinical training & experience was gained working with individuals in restricted settings. While incredibly challenging, these experiences have taught me invaluable lessons and provided me with a diverse perspective that is deeply ingrained in my work. I'm a firm believer in meeting people where they are, so regardless of presenting condition, I am comfortable treating anyone who is motivated and committed to working towards their own healing.
My communication style
My priority is to help clients feel safe and comfortable when they're working with me. I make every effort to create an empathetic and compassionate environment where clients feel respected, accepted, and understood. To work with me is to know that while I may be a therapist, I am also a human being. This level of vulnerability has never failed me and allows me to present myself to clients as a genuine and authentic participant in their healing process.
