“Dr. Kaiser is an exceptional therapist who strikes the perfect balance between compassion and accountability. She is kind, empathetic, understanding, and genuinely invested in the well-being of her clients. She creates a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard and validated, but she also isn’t afraid to challenge you when needed. Rather than simply telling you what you want to hear, she encourages you to look at situations from different perspectives, recognize patterns, and step outside your comfort zone. Her ability to provide both compassion and constructive challenges is what makes her so effective. She has a way of making difficult conversations feel comfortable while still encouraging meaningful reflection and personal growth. I highly recommend Dr. Kaiser to anyone looking for a therapist who will both support and challenge them in the best possible way.”

Getting to know Dr. Alexis Kaiser

As a Clinical Psychology Postdoctoral Fellow at Bryant West Psychology, I provide psychological assessments for children and adults, as well as individual and couples therapy in a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental space. My work is particularly attuned to individuals navigating ADHD, autism, anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, relationship challenges, chronic health conditions, and caregiving. My approach to therapy begins with getting to know you as a whole person, rather than focusing solely on your symptoms. I recognize that your experiences, needs, and strengths are unique, and that no single approach to therapy works for everyone. I use an integrative approach that draws from cognitive-behavioral (CBT), psychodynamic, relational, and insight-oriented therapies to tailor our work to what feels most meaningful and helpful to you. Together, we'll identify patterns that may be holding you back, develop practical tools to navigate life's challenges, and, when helpful, explore how past experiences may be shaping your present. Most importantly, I want therapy to feel like a place where you can be yourself, feel genuinely heard and understood, and know that we're working together toward what matters most to you. This clinical perspective is enriched by my own lived experience. Having walked the path of a patient advocate in rare disease and chronic pain, I intimately understand the intersection of medical, emotional, and practical challenges of navigating health conditions, feeling misunderstood or overlooked, and the importance of compassionate, thoughtful, and individualized care. My goal is to create a welcoming, collaborative space where your experiences, values, and goals help guide our work together.

More information on payments and coverage

Bryant West Psychology works with most insurance plans (whether in-network or out-of-network) to make the financials easy, hassle-free, and paper-work-free for you. We can bill your insurance for you, and you can pay us any deductibles and co-pays by credit card or through Zelle, as well as the old-fashioned ways, such as check or cash. In-Network: Our clinicians are providers in the following networks: Aetna and its affiliated insurers (Allied Benefit Systems - Aetna, Christian Brothers Services - Aetna, HealthScope - Aetna, Meritain, Nippon, Trustmark ) and student health insurance at NYU, Columbia, New School, Fordham. Your insurance company sets our fees, co-pays, and deductibles, making our services more affordable. We will discuss this with you. Out-of-Network: We bill all insurance companies, such as United Health Care, Oxford, Cigna, Blue Cross/Shield, and Beacon (to name a few). Depending on your plan, your insurance may pay up to 80% of our fees (and sometimes more). We will do our best to work with you to make payment arrangements that won't break the bank—that is, your bank.

I didn’t really know what to expect from therapy, but working with Dr. Kaiser was a great experience. I cannot recommend her enough! I learned a lot about myself and feel like I handle things much differently now than I did when I started therapy.
I’ve been dealing with mental health issues for most of my life, so I’ve been in therapy on and off and have worked with a few different therapists over the years. Dr. Kaiser is honestly one of the best. She’s easy to talk to and really takes the time to understand what I’m going through. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a new therapist.
I am generally very private about my personal life, so I was reluctant to talk to someone I didn’t know about the most painful time in my life. I was going through a nasty divorce and dealing with my current partner’s infidelity, so I decided to give therapy a try. Dr. Kaiser made me feel comfortable from the start. I felt like I could be honest with her, even about things that were difficult to say out loud. She helped me make sense of what I was going through and feel less overwhelmed by all of it. I’m so thankful I found Dr. Kaiser and would highly recommend her to anyone who may be hesitant about starting therapy.
Dr. Kaiser is awesome! I always looked forward to my sessions. She was really nice and easy to talk to. I learned a lot about myself, my experiences, and how to manage my stress and anxiety. I will definitely recommend Dr. Kaiser to anyone looking for a therapist.
