Dr. Edward Goldfarb MD, MD

Psychiatrist, Psychotherapist

Professional statement

I DO NOT TAKE ANY INSURANCE I ALSO NEED TO SPEAK TO ALL NEW PATIENTS BEFORE THEY SEE ME. Therapy can help you get relief from painful emotional symptoms and feel understood as a unique individual;you can usually achieve emotional freedom and improve your personal relationships. One can also became more productive at work and have more pleasure in life. Changing life long ways of coping that just are not working, and that are self destructive. I also tend to see patients who are at crossroad trying to deal with crises in their lives(divorce, losses, and problems in their love life). Therapy can also prevent the past from interfering with one's present life. I am a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst- I am not wedded to any one method, but tailor my approach to my individual patient and their needs. I believe that a person needs to be able to talk things over in a safe and private atmosphere. With understanding oneself, it can also unlock your creative potential. Many people that I have seen, have been in therapy that has not worked because it was too much on the surface and did not deal with the underlying issues.Often treatment failed because it was not a good "fit" between the two people. Most of my referrals have come from other doctors and therapists.

Dr. Goldfarb was generally nice and patient during session, however, his follow ups were rude and condescending.
