I DO NOT TAKE ANY INSURANCE. I ALSO NEED TO SPEAK TO ALL NEW PATIENTS BEFORE THEY SEE ME. Therapy can help you find relief from painful emotional symptoms and feel understood as a unique individual. You can usually achieve emotional freedom and improve your personal relationships. One can also become more productive at work and find more pleasure in life by changing lifelong ways of coping that are not working and may be self-destructive. I often see patients who are at a crossroads, trying to deal with crises in their lives such as divorce, losses, and problems in their love life. Therapy can also prevent the past from interfering with one's present life. I am a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst. I am not wedded to any one method but tailor my approach to each individual patient and their needs. I believe that a person needs to be able to talk things over in a safe and private atmosphere. Understanding oneself can also unlock your creative potential. Many people I have seen have been in therapy that did not work because it was too much on the surface and did not address the underlying issues. Often, treatment failed because it was not a good "fit" between the two people. Most of my referrals have come from other doctors and therapists. I earned my Doctor of Medicine from Vanderbilt University, completed my residency in psychiatry at Michael Reese Hospital, and trained in psychoanalysis at the Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis.
