Erin (McGovern) Ubriaco earned her B.S. Ed. in Exercise Physiology and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Miami. During her time at the U, Erin was a member of the women’s varsity soccer team, starting all four years in the highly competitive Atlantic Coast Conference. She was named captain of the team for her final season. Erin’s interest in physical therapy was sparked in high school after requiring shoulder surgery following her freshman year of soccer at Immaculate Heart Academy. Unfortunately, throughout her playing career, Erin required four shoulder surgeries and two knee surgeries, spending most of her high school and college playing days in and out of clinics and training rooms. Erin received physical therapy at EXCEL in both Hackensack and Waldwick, experiencing firsthand the benefits of physical therapy. She was also able to see firsthand how the staff at EXCEL worked with her in order to expedite her return to the field. While this experience was challenging, it allowed Erin to discover a passion for physical therapy and sparked her interested in working for EXCEL. Erin enjoys treating individuals suffering from all types of injuries, however her background led to her particular interest in orthopedic and sports-related injuries. Her experience with athletics and post-operative rehabilitation allows her to connect with these patients on a psychological level to better assist them in achieving a full recovery. In her free time, Erin enjoys working out, attending various sporting events, and binge watching her favorite television shows. In the fall you will find Erin in the stands cheering on her three brothers at their football games. In the summertime, you can catch Erin on the beach while vacationing at the Jersey Shore. Above all, she loves spending time with her family and friends.
