Getting to know Dr. Evan Sola

I see clients in an intensive, depth-oriented frame, occasionally incorporating ketamine-assisted therapy for cases involving therapeutic impasse and other treatment-resistant symptoms. I hold a PsyD in Clinical Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies and have completed advanced training through a fellowship at the Access Institute. My clinical experience includes internships at the C.G. Jung Institute of San Francisco and the Behavioral Medicine Clinic at the Medical University of South Carolina.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients often start therapy wanting a particular change to take place, or to have a specific question answered. I help clients bring a broader perspective to this inquiry, so they can access more of themselves. I strongly feel that the client's own inner wisdom is usually what's best for them, and that this can be revealed through a relationship based on compassionate self reflection.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I hold 50 minute therapy sessions on a weekly basis. Some clients decide that two or three weekly sessions better serves them as they work through difficult life transitions and histories. I offer 75 minute sessions for those who feel this extended time frame better allows them to open into deeper content. In ketamine-assisted therapy, the standard length of sessions is 150 minutes, and this is in a relaxed environment with calming or evocative music, where we try to balance usual talk therapy with going inward to explore one's direct experience.

More information on payments and coverage

My hours fee is $250. I'm not on any insurance panels, and charge clients out of pocket. As an alternative, I work with clients to gain out of network reimbursement for therapy when their insurance plan offers this kind of coverage. I send clients a monthly invoice to submit to their insurance provider for potential reimbursement.
