UpLift Behavioral Health providers do not issue prescriptions for substances controlled by any federal or state agency or other drugs that may be harmful because of their potential for abuse. UpLift Behavioral Health reserves the right to limit the types of medications that may be prescribed by its doctors and nurse practitioners. All prescriptions furnished by UpLift Behavioral Health care providers are issued in accordance with applicable federal and state law as well as UpLift Behavioral Health policy. I offer individual telehealth psychotherapy services for adults, focusing on anxiety, trauma, relationships, parenting, LGBTIA+ issues, and stress. I have specific expertise in disorders such as OCD and ADHD. Holding a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Virginia, I lean on scientifically supported treatments and am passionate about data, while also recognizing that science has historically neglected marginalized groups. As an Elder Millennial, I'm saddened by the deep exhaustion my clients express from current life in the U.S. I can't fix that, but I'll help you thrive despite it. Always up for disparaging late-stage capitalism and discussing your career. In general, I'm a good fit for people looking to make changes.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Many therapists give a laundry list of specialties and treatment modalities, and I'm no different. People are complex, and my training has taught me diverse skills. Like all treatment providers, I first want to get a sense of your history, current concerns, important things about your environment or identity, and your therapy goals. From there I tend to be very open about the treatment options we have. This could be for big things (chronic depression) or even a very specific problem (I argue with my spouse about chores). Then we can collaborate about what you think you would like to try, and I’m always interested in what doesn’t work for you and why it doesn’t. I also often name For folks who have been in therapy before, I like to chat about what you’ve tried before, what works and what you don’t like, so that I can be most helpful.
