Therapy Style
My therapy sessions tend to be interactive, collaborative and client-centric; meaning I center your strengths and goals. I offer compassionate care while also gently challenging my clients to make necessary changes to better their lives and relationships. My passion is helping others gain insight using an attachment focused, trauma informed approach. As I believe the personal is political, my work is always contextualized through the lens of social justice and anti-oppression frameworks. I offer a strengths based perspective which will help reinforce and identify adaptive and maladaptive thoughts and behavior.
Modality and Approach
I work primarily within a psychodynamic relationship framework, integrating cognitive-behavioral interventions when appropriate. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy or life in general, so my work is tailored to your specific needs. My priority is to create a safe space to explore strengths and challenges in efforts to reach a level of self-actualization and harmony. We will develop a toolkit to better understand yourself and disrupt unhelpful patterns of thoughts and behaviors.
What is one thing you do daily that supports your mental and emotional well-being?
One thing I do daily to support my well-being is allowing time for consistent journaling to better illustrate my thoughts and reflections in an external context. This allows me to process my interactions and better understand how I am moving myself towards my goals.
