Getting to know Dr. John Jurica

I help people, especially men, identify their thoughts and feelings so they can follow their values and communicate more effectively with the important people in their lives. With almost 10 years of experience and a PhD in Counseling Psychology from Colorado State University, I work with individuals to clarify what matters most to them and pursue it in ways that build confidence and improve well-being.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I focus on teaming up with you to figure out what works best for you. I apply several evidence-based approaches to align with what works for you, including Interpersonal Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Existential Therapy.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Typically we'll meet for a free initial consultation, and if we agree that its a good fit, we'll schedule an intake session. During this session, I will gather information about what brought you in, your symptoms, and your background. Then we'll set some goals for our meetings and work together to achieve the goals we set. Some meetings will be more conversational in nature, while others will be more structured, depending on what works best for you.
