About John Tomecek

John Tomecek, PT, is an experienced physical therapist with more than 20 years of experience helping patients recover from injury, restore mobility, and return to the activities that matter most to them. His background began in sports medicine, earning his degree in Biology from Stony Brook University with a concentration in sports medicine and becoming a Certified Athletic Trainer. He later earned his degree in Physical Therapy from Long Island University. Throughout his career, John has worked extensively in outpatient rehabilitation and home health, with additional experience in occupational health, Functional Capacity Evaluations, and providing on-field coverage for athletic events. Having practiced physical therapy for more than two decades, John has had the opportunity to see the profession evolve significantly and incorporates current evidence-based practices into his approach to patient care. He remains committed to continuing education and believes effective rehabilitation should address the individual as a whole—not simply an injury, diagnosis, or area of dysfunction. He takes the time to understand each patient's concerns, limitations, lifestyle, and personal goals in order to develop a treatment plan tailored to their needs. Patient education is also an important part of John's approach. He believes patients should understand their condition, the purpose behind their treatment, and the steps they can take to actively participate in their recovery. Whether helping someone recover from an orthopedic injury, regain function after surgery, manage a chronic condition, or return to an active lifestyle, John's goal is to help patients feel informed and supported throughout the rehabilitation process. Together with the All Sports Physical Therapy team, he is committed to helping each patient move better, feel stronger, and work toward returning to the life and activities they enjoy.
