What should a new client know about working with you?

You do not need to know exactly what you would like to change before beginning therapy. We can start with whatever brings you in, whether that is a specific concern, a longstanding difficulty, or simply a sense that something in your life deserves greater attention. I encourage new patients to approach our first meetings with openness and curiosity.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first few meetings are an opportunity for us to get to know one another and develop a fuller understanding of what brings you to therapy. I will invite you to speak about your current concerns, relevant history, relationships, and anything else that feels important. From there, we will develop an approach together. My work is generally conversational and exploratory, with room for reflection, silence, and attention to thoughts and feelings as they emerge.

  • Sliding scale: Offers lower out-of-pocket fees on an individual basis, typically based on your ability to pay
  • Files your insurance claim: You pay the session fee upfront and the provider files the claim for you, so you can get reimbursed directly without worrying about the paperwork
  • Charges post-reimbursement amount: This provider will only charge you for the amount you pay after you get reimbursed from your insurance plan, so you don’t need to pay the session fee upfront

Bryant West Psychology works with most insurance plans (whether in-network or out-of-network) to make the financials easy, hassle-free, and paper-work-free for you. We can bill your insurance for you, and you can pay us any deductibles and co-pays by credit card or through Zelle, as well as the old-fashioned ways, such as check or cash. In-Network: Our clinicians are providers in the following networks: Aetna and its affiliated insurers (Allied Benefit Systems - Aetna, Christian Brothers Services - Aetna, HealthScope - Aetna, Meritain, Nippon, Trustmark ) and student health insurance at NYU, Columbia, New School, Fordham. Your insurance company sets our fees, co-pays, and deductibles, making our services more affordable. We will discuss this with you. Out-of-Network: We bill all insurance companies, such as United Health Care, Oxford, Cigna, Blue Cross/Shield, and Beacon (to name a few). Depending on your plan, your insurance may pay up to 80% of our fees (and sometimes more). We will do our best to work with you to make payment arrangements that won't break the bank—that is, your bank.
