What should a new client know about working with you?

My therapy background is eclectic and evidence based. I start with a psychoanalytic psychodynamic approach and can integrate elements from Acceptance and Commitment (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Cognitive Processing (CPT), Dialectical Behavior (DBT), and Transference Focused Psychotherapy (TFP), depending on your therapy goals and needs. If you and I collaboratively determine medications can aid you to achieve your goals, I will provide you with the latest options on available evidence-based therapies. If you are already prescribed medications and want to try something new or come off them completely, I can help you to safely change, simplify, or eliminate your medication regimen,

What is your typical process for working with clients?

First, we will set up a complimentary 15-minute phone call within 24hrs of you setting up your first appointment. If a full evaluation is recommended, we will schedule the Initial Consultation at that time. An appointment booked through ZocDoc is not confirmed until we speak on the phone. The Initial Consultation may take place over the course of a few sessions. Once the consultation is complete, I will advise if treatment is recommended, and develop a personalized plan to meet your individual needs. Treatment options include medications only, combined medication plus therapy, or therapy only. Follow up sessions are 45 minutes (virtual or in-person) and the frequency of these depends on your goals and needs (more than once per week, weekly, or monthly).
