Getting to know Dr. Juan Carlos Cordero

I don't do testing or prescribe medicine. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship struggles, or just feeling stuck, I offer a space that is collaborative, respectful, and focused on real, lasting change. I use a personalized, integrative approach grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). Together, these approaches allow us to not only address the patterns that keep you stuck, but also activate the strengths and insight you already have within you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My style is warm, direct, and affirming. I believe you are the expert in your own life, and my role is to guide, support, and walk alongside you as you reclaim your sense of self and direction. Change doesn’t have to be overwhelming—it can start with one focused conversation. Let’s talk about where you are now and where you want to be.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Using CBT, we’ll explore the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, identifying patterns that no longer serve you. "SFT" helps us concentrate on what’s working to create momentum. And when past trauma or distress is getting in the way of living fully", EMDR can be a powerful tool to process those experiences and move forward. I don't do testing or prescribe medicine.
