Psychotherapist
2480 W 26th Ave, Ste 135 B, Denver, CO
Julie Maerz, MA, LPC, earned her Master's in Counseling Psychology and Counselor Education from the University of Colorado Denver. She is a psychotherapist practicing with Heather Reynolds, MA, LPC, at Denver Rapid Resolution Therapy. Julie currently sees clients in person or via telehealth! With Rapid Resolution Therapy (RRT), you DON'T have to feel worse BEFORE feeling better! Most adult clients see me 2-5 times and leave our first session saying, "Wow! I feel better already." You haven't chosen to think, act, or feel this way, so how could you possibly choose NOT to? Problems like PTSD, depression, abuse/assault, anxiety/panic, grief/loss, self-esteem, and stuckness are caused and maintained by forces beyond your control. You won't have to do homework, relive a trauma, or even know why you've been stuck. RRT uses multi-level communication, intentionally addressing both conscious and subconscious mind. The conscious mind understands past, present, and future as well as what is and isn't happening. The subconscious mind is there to help you survive, stay safe, and make bad things stop happening. When you think of something bad that happened in the past, the subconscious mind doesn't understand that it's not actually happening now and activates the mind to do something to make it stop. RRT addresses and clears the subconscious mind of these distressing emotions and updates it so it stops trying to fix problems that aren't happening, leaving you feeling happier, calmer, and more in control of yourself. I provide brief, effective therapy. A first session is 2.5 hours so that we can get a lot done. Most clients return for 90-minute follow-up sessions (1-5 more) if the problem is complex or there are several issues to address.
