Hi there, I'm Clay. Life is hard, and we have so much to stress and worry about in today’s world. We worry about getting the bills paid, and we're concerned for our and our loved ones' safety and health. We are often overwhelmed by many things, and it’s depressing. Some of us have experienced or are currently experiencing situations that no human being should ever have to endure. And we have trouble letting these situations go. Some of us experience this on a cultural level. We can feel pain in the loss of loved ones, relationships, and situations that brought us joy. In the end, we can be left feeling hopeless and powerless in living our lives, leading some to lose or question their own faith. It takes courage to be vulnerable and face the wounds and pain that we are or have experienced. Therefore, taking the time today to read my biography is a courageous step. I sincerely appreciate and respect you for doing so. I hold a Master of Arts degree and am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. My work in helping you through these situations includes providing a listening and empathetic ear and helping you develop skills to manage the symptoms you experience. Sometimes, it also means having a good conversation and throwing in some humor when appropriate. Many would describe me as grounded and relatable. I tend to think that building rapport with you is my greatest strength. Walking with you on this journey has as much to do with my own personal experience as it does with the education that I have received. I specialize in a variety of areas including anger management, anxiety, adolescent and teen mental/behavioral health, depression, gender identity, grief/bereavement, LGBTQIA+ support, life transitions, military/veteran support, multicultural/diversity issues, PTSD, intimate/romantic relationships, spirituality, stress, suicidal ideation and/or self-harming, and trauma. My approach is holistic and tailored to meet your unique needs.
