Kara L. Smith, MSW, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s degree in Social Work from California State University, Los Angeles, with an emphasis in Aging and Families. Kara has a broad range of clinical experience working with individuals across the lifespan in the following areas: Chronic Mental Illness, Suicide Assessment and Risk Reduction, Trauma and Abuse, Group Psychotherapy, Complicated Grief Reactions, Parent-Child Conflict, as well as Depression and Anxiety Disorders. She derives much of her approach from Feminist and Humanistic Therapies. Kara has a particular interest in utilizing practical interventions to support caregivers and their mental health, thereby improving the mental health and wellbeing of children.
