We live in an era of over-diagnosing, overwhelming choice, and sensory overload. Yet we each need to evolve in our own way. I can help you through psychotherapy that focuses on the here and now. Together, we can work to make changes to resolve your pain and problems in the face of life's intrusions, as well as its natural ebbs and flows.
I am a psychotherapist, teacher and writer who has lived in many different communities. In 1982, I graduated with an AB in American and British Literature and then completed my medical degree in 1985 at Brown University. From there I trained in adult psychiatry at UCLA where I graduated in 1989 and continue to broaden my knowledge and skills as I work using psychoanalytic and emotionally focused principles. I provide psychotherapy to individuals and couples, as well as assess if medications could be helpful and work closely with psychopharmacologists.
In dealing with your struggles and pain, your stage of life dilemmas, relationship problems, work place conflicts, anxiety or depression, we will distill how you perceive yourself, react and relate to the people in your private and public lives. As you work and develop in therapy, your feelings will inform and enhance, rather than drive your choices. You can become the author of your own life story and live a life of joy and purpose.
