“Stephanie is a wonderful psychiatrist who puts the needs of her clients above all else. She is attentive and knowledgeable and handles her work with immense care. She always checks in with her clients and ensures their well-being before altering/prescribing medications. She is thorough with her work and allows as much time as the client needs during appointments. She is responsive to emails/calls and creates availability in her schedule to fit in a client before the set appointment time if they need support. Stephanie's attention to detail and her unwavering dedication to creating a supportive environment does not go unnoticed. She is the first (of four previous) psychiatrists whom I trust and whom I feel comfortable with.”

Getting to know Stephanie Reed

Hi there, I'm Stephanie! I'm Stephanie Reed, a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in California with over 9 years of clinical experience. I earned my Master’s in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Frontier Nursing University. My approach My approach to mental health involves the whole person, and we work together to focus on all aspects of life and health—emotional, social, and physical. In addition to training in psychiatric care, my background in social work, perinatal health, and sexuality education enriches my perspective and the care I provide. We will address lifestyle factors (sleep, exercise, diet, etc.) that, alongside medication and therapy, impact a person’s overall well-being and mental health. My focus I treat a broad range of conditions, with a particular interest in anxiety, depression, perinatal mental health, ADHD, PTSD, and affirmative mental healthcare for gender-expansive and trans folks. My communication style I work to create a safe and nonjudgmental environment with unconditional support. I like our treatment plans to be collaborative and want you to feel comfortable asking questions and contributing to finding the best solutions for you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

To ensure we have a productive first visit, please be sure to fill out your intake form in advance! During our first visit, we will complete a full mental health assessment and evaluation. There will be lots of questions during this visit, especially regarding your medical and mental health history. Working together to determine an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan is important for your mental health. This may require multiple appointments. Controlled medications may be available from my practice on a limited basis and rarely on the first session. All paperwork such as FMLA and related will only be considered after several sessions of treatment and as clinically indicated. Once we have completed your evaluation, we can then discuss a treatment plan specific to your needs that will get you on the road to feeling better as soon as possible!

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In addition to training in psychiatric care, my background in clinical social work, perinatal health, and sexuality education enrich my perspective and the care I provide. I use an eclectic approach to helping people uncover and understand the nature of the struggles they are having and help us come to an effective treatment plan together.

It is convenient and I feel I get almost the full benefit of in-person but when getting a medication prescribed that is a controlled substance there are some pharmacies that won't accept them to no fault of Path but is something to be considered for patients to be able to receive treatment adequately
