Dr. Katie Rice, DPT, PT

Physical Therapist
1911 Crain Hwy S, Glen Burnie, MD
Katie Rice's journey to physical therapy was shaped by the highs and challenges of a competitive athletic career. A former multi-sport high school athlete and Division I lacrosse player at Fresno State University, Katie experienced the demands of elite-level sport from the inside — including the injuries that come with it. Navigating multiple injuries requiring rehabilitation gave her a profound appreciation for the role physical therapy plays in an athlete's life and ultimately revealed her calling in sports physical therapy. Beyond lacrosse, her love for running and lifting continues to fuel her understanding of the active body and the dedication it takes to maintain peak performance. Katie earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2023 and completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree at the University of Maryland, Baltimore in May 2026. Throughout her graduate training, Katie gained well-rounded clinical experience across the rehabilitation spectrum, completing rotations in acute rehabilitation and multiple outpatient orthopedic settings. Her final rotation at True Sports Physical Therapy allowed her to immerse herself in sports rehabilitation, working closely with athletes in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment. Katie is also actively involved in lacrosse coaching, a role that keeps her connected to the sport she loves and deepens her understanding of the movement patterns and injury demands facing today's field athletes. Katie has a particular passion for post-operative ACL rehabilitation and lower extremity conditions — areas where her own experience as an injured athlete gives her a unique ability to empathize with patients and guide them through recovery. She is especially drawn to working with field athletes, runners, and active adults, and takes pride in helping each individual return to the activities they love with greater confidence, strength, and resilience.
