“Kim was my physical therapist for the last year and she has changed my life for the better. Once I found out she was opening a new practice I knew I had to visit, and I'm so glad I did. Nothing but good things to say about her, and if you want someone who is both knowledgeable and kind then look no further.”

“Kim is PHENOMENAL. She really takes her time to understand YOUR injury and symptoms to develop a care plan that is tailored specifically for YOU. She is very methodical and knowledgeable with her approach to care. She continuously reassesses to make adjustments based on how YOUR body is responding and YOUR end goals. Kim truly provides a completely one-on-one session focused on your recovery. I have a long history of sports and I've had a physical therapist in the past just lump my injury in a general category, print out a sheet of exercises and leave me to complete the exercises for the remainder of the session. That is NOT the case here. Kim watches every exercise while correcting your form, and making adjustments to the exercise based on how your body responds. I have seen DRASTIC improvements. I went from barely being able to sit upright due to pain, to holding a plank position in a couple of weeks! You will be hard-pressed to find another Physical Therapist as good as Kim! ”

About Dr. Kimberly Stanford

Hi, I’m Kimberly Stanford. I’m the owner and physical therapist at Trident Physical Therapy. Please call me Kim. I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy with a specialty in orthopedics and an interest in spinal rehabilitation. I was born and raised in Barbados and moved to the United States, after I was offered a Division I Women’s Track and Field scholarship to Rice University. There, I competed in the 100 meter hurdles while earning a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology. I went on to earn my Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Texas Woman’s University, and I decided to pursue a Postgraduate Residency in Orthopedic Physical Therapy with an emphasis in spinal rehabilitation. My hobbies include working out, trying various cuisines and traveling back home to Barbados, with my family. I am married with 2 kids and a dog. We recently relocated to Georgia, and I’m looking forward to building my relationships here! Oh and coffee! I love a good coffee!

Kim was amazing. At the age of 47, I slipped disc in October and she had me ready for my snowboarding trip a month in advance by January. I learned so much about my own body through working with Kim. I learned new ways of moving that have become my new habit and keep my core strong, preventing future injuries. If you suffer from intense, chronic pain or weakness and frequent, random, debilitating injuries that seem to come out of nowhere and take the fun out of life I highly recommend you get working with Kim as soon as possible and stick to it! She will save your life. Thanks Kim!
I’ve seen many PTs over the years and Kim was by far the best. I came to Kim when I was recovering from a very painful herniated disc. Other PTs had tried to push me to do too much too soon and it was only increasing my pain. With Kim, I felt like I was really being listened to for the first time and she helped me slowly build back strength. She also helped me re-learn how to listen to my body and know when to push vs. when to scale back. I cannot recommend Kim highly enough!
Kim is amazing! I was referred by a friend and it was the best recommendation. I was seeing another PT before her and was looking for someone attentive, skilled, and with great bedside manner. Kim was the exact right person. She knows the body well and did a thorough exam. She paid attention to every movement and truly listened to me. Kim really focuses on what's best for the patient. She recognized when I needed something different and I feel like that's hard to come by. I truly trust her work and her professionalism is top notch!
Kim goes above and beyond. After each session she sends me a list of the exercises and stretches we did with photos for reference. This is huge for me because I wouldn't remember otherwise. She checks in and listens thoughtfully adjusting the day according to how I'm feeling. I couldn't recommend her more and so grateful to her for my steady recovery!
