I take a holistic approach to treating mental health that incorporates the body, mind, and spirit. I teach people how to listen to their bodies through mindfulness, visualizations, and breath work as the body often holds onto painful feelings that are not able to be put into words. Talk therapy is an integral part of each session as we explore your story, but is paired with tools for accessing the emotions connected to those stories and developing a greater awareness of the painful memories still living in the body. For those who have tried traditional talk therapy or can put their emotions into words, but still feel stuck, this approach may work for you. This approach is also very good for anyone with a trauma history as it allows for slow integration of emotion without having to rehash the narrative every time.
I treat people of all types of backgrounds and all are welcome! I particularly enjoy working with the queer community, artists, trauma survivors, people navigating their sexuality and preferences, and spiritual seekers of all backgrounds!
My style is influenced by principles from Somatic Experiencing, DBT, Hakomi method, and mindfulness studies and my approach tends to be an eclectic mix of philosophy, literature, pop culture, and a healthy dose of humor. I look forward to meeting you!
