“Laura was the first OT I worked with for help with organization and decluttering of my apt. I worked with Laura for several months as my insurance only covered limited amount of sessions. Laura is an amazing, compassionate and highly skilled OT who I highly recommend. She has a ton of patience and meets you where you’re at, but also knows when to challenge you or go easy on you depending on what is best for you. If you are fortunate enough to have Laura as your OT, you will not be disappointed! ”

About Laura D'Aconti

My practice provides occupational therapy services through in-home visits and teletherapy. I take a holistic approach that begins with a detailed initial evaluation, followed by comprehensive and individualized treatment sessions. My ultimate goal is to help my clients increase their independence in activities of daily living. Client Focus Preschool-Aged Children (3-5 years) School-Aged Children (6-12 years) Adolescents (12-19 years) Adults (19-65 years) Older Adults (65+ years) TREATMENT SPECIALIZATIONS Neurological Disorders As an Occupational Therapist, I began working with neurological disorders, primarily stroke and traumatic brain injury, in 2012 at NYU Langone Medical Center in an acute hospital setting. I then transitioned to a sub-acute, intensive rehab setting specializing in brain injury for seven years until I started my own practice in 2019. Over the years, I have worked with individuals with brain injury and stroke in all phases of recovery. If you or your loved one has experienced a stroke or life-changing neurological event, I can help increase your ability to function in all aspects of everyday life to live more independently through self-care and meaningful activities. I focus on establishing realistic, client-centered goals to challenge and motivate my clients while promoting neurological recovery. Additionally, my treatment sessions emphasize caregiver and family communication, education, and hands-on training to help them cope, support, and assist their loved ones with neurological injuries. General Medical Conditions Since beginning my career as an Occupational Therapist in 2012, I have also worked with individuals with general medical conditions, including orthopedic, cardiac, and pulmonary diagnoses. I earned my Master's in Occupational Therapy and Bachelor's degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
