About Lauren J. Ziaks

I am a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Neurologic Physical Therapy (2022) with a Certificate in Vestibular Rehabilitation (2021). I earned my Bachelor's in Athletic Training and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, with a concentration in Business, from Northeastern University. As of Fall 2024, I am enrolled at Nova Southeastern University to earn my Ph.D. in Health Science. My clinical focus is on autonomic disorders, vision and vestibular rehabilitation to address chronic headaches, difficulty with school/work, reading deficits, attention deficits, exercise intolerance, and dizziness and balance issues post head trauma or COVID. Since 2015, I have been working to build and publish new treatment strategies for concussion, dysautonomia, and long-COVID. My research focuses on the examination and treatment of concussion and dysautonomia, which has been shared as peer-reviewed publications, poster presentations, and conference workshops at local, state, and national levels. I love getting to teach and have had the opportunity to lecture at colleges and universities, in addition to mentoring fellow clinicians to help this patient population. My favorite thing is assisting patients in their return to their favorite activities after these often-debilitating injuries and illnesses. I started my career working in professional sports, including NCAA football and the US Ski and Snowboard Association. After a head injury of my own and subsequent chronic illness, I transitioned into neurologic physical therapy, and helping others with the same challenges became my career passion. This journey has provided me the opportunity to help change the way we treat concussions, long-COVID, and dysautonomia at a national level. Being able to help patients with chronic illness gain back a full life is the most fulfilling part of my job!
