About Dr. Leonard Somarriba

Dr. Leonard J. Somarriba co-founded ProFysio Physical Therapy in 2013. His mission has been to build a company and brand known for excellence in clinical care and service in outpatient Physical Therapy. The vision is to change the perception of outpatient Physical Therapy in the community to one of treatment and service that is effective, efficient, enjoyable, convenient, affordable, and life-changing. Dr. Somarriba’s vision is rooted in his professional development as an elite clinician and his strong desire to care for and change the lives of his patients. In 15 years of practice, he has touched thousands of patients and developed a reputation for excellence. Before co-owning ProFysio, as an associate, he developed a niche caring for patients who had failed to recover with other Physical Therapists. His success comes from a comprehensive treatment approach including highly skilled Manual Therapy, thorough physical examination techniques, and educating patients on their condition and rehabilitation. His willingness and humility to collaborate with physicians and allied health professionals for the benefit of patients has been key to their success. Dr. Somarriba is a visionary at the forefront of innovation in outpatient Physical Therapy. Recognizing that chronic soft tissue injury involves slow healing, he has led his team to implement cutting-edge technology and protocols known as EPAT, or extracorporeal shock wave treatment. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Montana and holds a Master’s in Physical Therapy from the University of Connecticut. He further advanced his expertise through a Fellowship in Manual Therapy at the Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy.
